Paul is a bilingual mining sector researcher, analyst and reporter with over 20 years experience in the mining sector and 17 years experience in Latin America. Paul has eight years experience in the Colombia gold sector working with junior explorers in an investor relations and business development capacity in addition to providing analysis, research and reporting about the sector, and since 2015 has been Americas Editor for Mining Journal covering the Latin America region. Paul founded and edits Colombia Gold Letter in 2011 that focuses on the gold and copper sectors in the northern Andes, and began the successful Colombia Gold Symposium in 2017.

Previously he spent five years in Chile researching and reporting on the copper sector for Metal Bulletin and CRU. Paul received a BA in business administration from the University of the West of England, UK; and a MA in international relations from the University of Chile.

Alan Pangbourne has over 35 years of experience in global mining operations and most recently was the President and CEO of Guyana Goldfields Inc. through to its sale to Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. in August 2020. Previously, Mr. Pangbourne was Chief Operating Officer of SSR Mining Inc.;Vice President Projects South America for Kinross Gold Corporation;and held increasingly senior roles at BHP Billiton Ltd., including President and Chief Operating Officer of Nickel Americas, Projects Director for BHP’s Uranium Division, which includes the Olympic Dam Expansion, and Project Manager for BHP’s Spence copper project in Chile. He was also General Manager at an engineering company that specialized in gold heap leach & carbon-in-pulp plants. Mr. Pangbourne holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Extractive Metallurgy) and a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Processing from the Western Australian School of Mines.

Extensive experience in many jurisdictions through all phases of mineral assets development and operation, asset valuation, due diligence for top tier mining companies and financial institutions. Solid technical experience to evaluate exploration and operational assets with knowledge from exploration stage to resource- reserve estimation, mineral project appraisal, feasibility studies, and mining operations. Senior roles with Echo Bay Mines, Phelps Dodge, and Vale in Latin America. 20+ years of mining and financial industry experience; Former Division Director for Macquarie Bank – Metals and Energy.

A Professional Geologist (P.Geo) with a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Mr. Durose is a highly-ranked financial analyst who has worked in the capital markets for more than 25 years. Founder and CEO of Durose Asset Management Inc., he previously held increasingly senior positions as a well-regarded mining analyst with Scotia Capital Inc., Morgan Stanley, Bunting Warburg, and Nesbitt Burns. He has travelled extensively to visit mining and exploration projects all over the world. Before joining the capital markets, Mr. Durose worked as an exploration geologist in the Canadian base metal and gold industries.
