Relevant Experience: Mr. Wage is a recognised professional with extensive experience in the potash sector. Prior to joining Danakali Niels held a number of senior management roles at BHP, including VP Potash, VP Freight and VP Diamonds. He was also responsible for marketing, sales and supply chain for the Jansen Potash Project. Niels has been with Danakali since 2018 and is now leading the team, transforming the exceptional resource of Colluli into a producing world class SOP project.

Jamie is an environmental practitioner with over 25 years of experience gained while working on a variety of international mining and oil/gas projects, including a number of IFC compliant sites. He has developed a broad understanding of international management practices, with a strong focus on risk assessment, site rehabilitation, waste management and environmental monitoring. Having worked with other Eritrean mining operations since 2014, he also possesses a good working knowledge of local conditions.

Lloyd is an international human rights lawyer with over 20 years of experience working with leading companies, governments, national human rights institutions, civil society organizations and indigenous peoples. He has developed a niche in the field of business and human rights, with a focus on implementing human rights due diligence processes (HRDD) and human rights impact assessments (HRIA) in relation to extractive industry projects around the world. He has led or participated in over 30 HRIAs and has conducted over 75 site visits to implement HRIA or HRDD processes around the world.

John is the founder of Vita, an Ireland-based civil society organization bringing 20 years’ experience in delivering sustainable livelihoods to rural farms in East Africa. Coming from a financial background, John has been providing investment advisory services while representing HSBC in Eritrea in the 1990s. After spending a number of years in the country, John moved back to Ireland to establish Vita, the social development organization in Eritrea and Ethiopia, and since 2008 has also been involved in initiatiation of new development models including the Green Impact Fund and Irish Potato Coalition. John also worked with UNDP Eritrea as an external expert to devise the study into Danakali’s social impact credentials which was published in January 2019.
